Precari-what? Making a living from art and design
21 October 2014 from 6pm to 8pm

In this workshop we explore what it means to work as an artist, designer and/or architect, today. We will also look into what inventive ways of working and organising are out there that we could learn from.

Transition from university to work
28 October and 18 November 2014 from 4pm to 6pm

These two workshops focus on how to organise one’s transition from being a student to making a living through one’s work as an artist, designer and/or architect. During the first session, we will focus on your own desired practice and consider strategies for how to make it viable. In the second session, we will look at how to negotiate internships, jobs and commissioned work.

Support structures and ways of organising
25 November and 9 December 2014 from 4pm to 6pm

These two workshops focus on how to create and nurture supportive economies for your practice. During the first session, we will focus on your economies and support structures and consider how you could make them more sustainable and resilient. In the second session, we will look at how to handle resources such as time and money and will consider how to strengthen your skills of collaboration.

All workshops take place at the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, CCA Laboratory Building, Warsaw.

The workshops are organised by The Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in collaboration with National Culture Centre. Brave New Alps’ artistic residency is realized in collaboration with Akademie Schloss Solitude with the financial support of the City of Warsaw.
